After receiving the LP “Just As I Am” by the Soul Converters today, I had to update the JAS Records discography. As it seems, the label’s main activities were between the late 1960’s and early 1970’s (1968 and 1972 are the specific years I found on the internet), the final releases came out in the mid 1970’s to early 1980’s. These releases include 3 LP’s and, likely, a couple of blue labeled “mono-stereo” singles (#535, 536, 537, 538 and 539). The notes on the back cover of the Soul Converters LP state that former member John O. Williams passed away on Feb. 9, 1979. That means that this album wasn’t released earlier than 1979. I assume it’s from the early 1980’s. In the previous edition of the JAS Records discography I dated the JAS LP’s as from c. 1970, so I had to make some changes.
So, the discography has been updated although many details are still missing. I’ve added information and scans for JAS LP 1101.
