Notes:
- This album was originally released on J-V-B (LP 100, 1956?). The Aretha Franklin sides were re-released on Checker LP 10009, together with the tracks that were on Battle LP 6109.
- The labels give the album title simply as “Spirituals by” (+ the names of the artists). The title on the front cover could be read as “Spirituals Recorded During Service At New Bethel Baptist Church – Detroit, Mich.” (see scans).
- On Chess, “The Lord Will Make A Way” is titled “The Lord Will Make A Way Somehow”.
