Notes:
- This album appears to have been released in 1962. This corresponds with the neighbouring catalogue numbers and the information of these releases as given in Robert Laughton’s “Gospel Discography”. However, “He’s Everything To Me”, the last track on the album is dated 1964 according to the discography. Another relevant detail is the album title: what’s the anniversary about? Usually it indicates a round number of years a group exists. Charlie Barnwell, Rufus Washington and William Crawford started the group in 1939 (adopting the Swanee Quintet name in 1945). This could indicate the group’s 25th anniversary in 1964. 1962 doesn’t seem to make any sense. Oddly, the cover of this LP doesn’t give any clue either; even the year 1939 isn’t given; instead it says: “A trio composed of Charlie Barnwell, Rufus Washington and William Crawford became popular as Spiritual singers in Georgia and South Carolina in 1944.” – a 20th year anniversary?
